Looking for seclusion? Birch Point Provincial Park has got you covered. It's a very small park just 160 kms southeast of Winnipeg on Lake of the Woods near the northeast angle of Minnesota. Watchorn Provincial Park is a small, secluded campground just south of Steep Rock. It has both basic and electrical sites. It has 8 walk in sites (#49 - 56), and by walk in I mean a very short 50 meter walk from the parking lot, that sit on the beach overlooking the water. Nopiming is the Anishinabe word meaning “entrance to the wilderness”. The name perfectly describes this provincial park. I might even argue that this is my favorite provincial park in Manitoba. It houses over 100 lakes and multiple rivers. The only roads that go through the park are gravel.
